Kerala Became First State with Bank Accounts for all Families 2014

Kerala as the first state to become among all the states which has the complete bank accounts for all the families in Kerala under PMJDY on 11th November 2014.

Kerala was the first state in the country to have the bank accounts for all the families under PMJDY ( Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna) . A formal declaration in this was declared by the Kerala Finance minister K M Mani at the state level bankers committee meeting in Thiruvananthapuram on 11th November 2014.

Under the PMJDY, Kerala has opened about 13 lakh new accounts and has mobilised 326 crore rupees through intensive financial literacy campaigns launched under the aegis of the State Level Banker’s Committee (SLBC)
