Bharti Airtel announced to do agreement with the Eaton towers to sell 3500  towers in Africa

Bharti Airtel announced to sign an agreement with the Eaton Towers to diverse 3500 towers in africa nations. Under this Agreement Airtel signed an 10 years agreement to sell and lease back these towers to Eaton.

The agreement is worth for about 600 to 800 million US dollars . The six nations for which the Bharti Airtel is supplying the Towers include Ghana ,Uganda , Kenya but not Nigeria. Nigeria is the Bharti Airtel biggest African market.

The main moto under selling the towers to the Eaton was the to sell more then the 15000 mobile phones towers to 20 african countries and to cut cost of maintenance.
Maintenance is one of the typical costs in Africa due to factors such as the security costs and electricity shortages.
