Japan Researchers developed New Method to Detect Virus Ebola through RT Lamp.

Japan Researchers in collaboration with the Eiken chemical developed the RT Lamp Method to detect Ebola Virus in 30 minutes. on 2nd September 2014. The researchers at Nagasaki University headed by the Prof Jiro Yasuda collaborated with the Eiken Chemical.

The RT Lamp means ( Reverse Transription Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification) by the Synthesizing and amplifying the DNA of the Ebola Virus as well as the Virus of the Marburg Hemorrhagic fever and Lassa fever.

The New method to detect the virus is simple and cheap when compared to other methods and it can be used in places where testing equipments are needed.

The need to develop the method was necessitated by the outbreak of Ebola virus disease in the West African countries of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. The Ebola disease has so far engulfed more than 1400 lives.
