Government Approved 7% Hike in Dearness Allowances on 4th Sep 2014

Union government  has been approved 7% hike in the Dearness allowances for all the Central Government Employees. and Dearness Relief for Pensioners on 4th September 2014.

This hike is over the increase in the Existing rate of the 100 percent of the basic pay o compensate for the basic price raises. This Means that is DA has been reached to 107 percent and the pay would benefit for all the 30 lakh Central employees and the 50 Lakh pensioners.

In the current financial year period of July 2014 till February 2015, the decision will cost to the public exchequer around 12818 crore rupees. DA will be of approximately 7691 crore rupees per annum and that of the DR would be 5127 crore rupees

The Hike decision has been taken at the Cabinet meeting that was chaired by the prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi .
